What is Job Cost Wizard?
Job Cost Wizard serves two functions. First, it's a report generator for National Estimator, turning estimates into invoices you can mail out in a window envelope. Second, it exports your estimates to QuickBooks Pro where you can track job costs, comparing estimated and actual costs for each part of the job.

Job Cost Wizard Version 2.0 supports qbXML integration with QuickBooks Pro 2002. Now Available! Download Job Cost Wizard

All subsequent National Estimator estimates that are opened will have this "new" title until you change it.

Why can't I reopen the file I just saved in Job Cost Wizard?
Remember, Job Cost Wizard saves files in a file format supported by QuickBooks Pro. Once saved, the IIF file is only valid for use in QuickBooks Pro. Of course you can always open The National Estimator (*.EST) file again in Job Cost Wizard.

Helpful hint: Do not save the estimate file in Job Cost Wizard until you are ready to import the file into QuickBooks.

When I try to import the IIF file into QuickBooks Pro 2000, I get an error message referencing a specific line and the file doesn't get imported?
This means that a file with the same name that has already been imported. If this is a new, or different, job give the file a new name when saving it in Job Cost Wizard. To import an estimate a second time using the same name, delete the estimate first in QuickBooks Pro.
